Want to know how to choose the right gym?
Simple, read our advice , so you won’t make mistakes and you will find the right place for you to do sports and have fun at the same time!
Step one: Get rid of the idea that the gym is a place frequented only by crazy people in ultra-tight leggings, aping the teacher, trying to keep up with the loud music.
The gym is also a meeting place and a space to eat healthy with your friends.
If you want to get more toned and lose weight , returning from vacation is a perfect time : choosing the right gym is not difficult, just follow our tips!
1 – How to choose the right gym: choose it near your home or near your office

The most popular excuses given by those who don’t go to the gym are the distance, tiredness and stress of getting there.
For an hour of pilates , you would spend too much time in the car or on a scooter!
Even if your friend’s gym has amazing amenities, don’t let it convince you .
To choose the right gym for you, look for one in your neighborhood : much better than a mega galactic one with four pools and 5 jacuzzis on the other side of town.
2 – How to choose the right gym: check that the hours are compatible with your needs

Each of us has our own schedule for doing sports based on our commitments .
If the gym near your office closes at 8pm and you finish work at 7pm, or if it isn’t open on Sundays, there’s no way you’re going there!
Even if you don’t plan on going to the gym on Sunday morning , why not leave the option open?
Once you choose the right gym, who knows, maybe you’ll enjoy going there so much that you’ll want to do it on Sundays too!
3 – How to choose the gym: meet the instructors

Have you decided to do a job with machines that you don’t know how to use?
We recommend that you meet the instructors and have a chat with them.
It is not enough that they are good professionals : it is very important that there is a sympathy between you that allows you to work well together.
Warning : Many teachers in the weight room are sleeping or chatting .
4 – How to choose a gym: check the gym equipment
What if you want to exercise on an exercise bike and there are only 5 of them?
Keep in mind that when you happen to go to the gym during peak hours , you may not be able to find a free one and your fitness program will start off on the wrong foot !
Also ask how many members the gym has: by doing a quick calculation, you will understand the situation.
Obviously, if the gym has a lot of equipment , you will have more opportunities to diversify your activities.
The gym is not just about body building: for those who prefer gentler activities there is also yoga, pilates , stretching or, if you like dancing and letting loose, zumba, belly dancing or tango.
5 – How to choose a gym: go and see the local gym

We often immediately think of the big chains, but don’t rule out going to check out your local gym .
It may be less equipped, but you will find people you know and if for you doing sports also means sharing, it can be the optimal solution.
6 – How to choose the right gym: how much does it cost?
Many gyms offer services such as a nutritionist or a spa and inflate the costs of the membership.
Try to understand whether these services interest you or not.
It is obvious that gyms with a swimming pool have higher costs , but if you hate water, there is no point in spending that money!
An important tip: always ask to do at least 2 or 3 trial lessons before committing , so you don’t risk disappointment or finding yourself following a course that is too demanding or, worse, that bores you!
